Series U
Chemically resistant, single-stage centrifugal pump in close-coupled design, with single mechanical seal
The U series is the basic model for pumping aggressive fluids. In the U series, the motor power is transmitted directly to the pump impeller via a continuous shaft (close-coupled pump). A single mechanical seal, lubricated and cooled by the process fluid, ensures pump tightness. The mechanical seal is available with various elastomer and sliding face materials.
The U series is a versatile all-round pump. Its wide range of designs and materials allows optimum adaptation to a broad variety of process fluids and operating conditions. Solids with a particle size of up to 3 mm and a concentration of up to 10 vol.% can be conveyed. The viscosity can be up to 150 mPa·s, and the maximum fluid temperature is 95 °C. All sizes are also available in ATEX-certified versions under the designation U-EX for use in ATEX Zone 2.

Applications
Pumping of acids, lyes or other corrosive, hazardous or toxic fluids in applications where leakage of even the smallest quantities is undesirable and a hermetically sealed pump is required.
Pumping of high-purity or sensitive fluids where contamination of the process fluid with foreign substances must be avoided.
For example in the following applications:
