Environmental industry

Exhaust gases contaminated with pollutants are generated in a wide range of industrial manufacturing

and combustion processes. These exhaust gases must therefore be cleaned, or the pollutants neutralized, before the gases can be released into the environment. Our customers use gas scrubbers or wet separators for this purpose. These systems remove chemical and particulate contaminants from the exhaust gases by using suitable liquids to separate them from the gas stream.

Acids or alkalis are frequently used in this process. The collected, contaminated liquid is

then treated in wastewater treatment plants. A robust pump is required to ensure safe operation. This applies not only in terms of chemical resistance; the pump used must also reliably provide the pressure required for continuous operation of the spray nozzles. Our pumps deliver both in many exhaust gas cleaning systems.

Schmitt Pumps: Robust Solutions for Sustainable Processes

Centrifugal pumps are a key component of environmental engineering systems, as they convey liquids

continuously and efficiently. Schmitt centrifugal pumps are specifically designed for use with aggressive, contaminated and, in some cases, solids-laden media, ensuring safe operation in a wide range of environmental engineering applications.

A major advantage is the uniform, low-pulsation flow rate. This ensures

stable process conditions, for example in circulation applications in treatment tanks, in gas scrubbers or in the dosing of chemicals. At the same time, centrifugal pumps are robust in design and require little maintenance, making them particularly suitable for systems operating continuously.

In environmental technology, leak tightness and operational reliability play a decisive role. Sch

mitt magnetically coupled pumps are hermetically sealed and prevent the escape of hazardous fluids. Alternatively, pumps with mechanical seals offer cost-effective solutions for less critical applications. Dry-run-safe immersion pumps are also suitable for open systems and tanks.

Thanks to their high chemical

resistance, flexibility and reliability, Schmitt centrifugal pumps can be optimally integrated into environmental engineering processes – from wastewater treatment and exhaust air purification to recirculation and the dosing of process chemicals.
